Storytown Creek Bridge Project

This is how it all started, and how it looked to the folks who visited during the Great Artmetal Shindig. The raw stock weighed almost 1100 lbs, and cost just under $1000. From the left:
2"x2"x.125 (3 pcs), 2"x4"x.125 (3 pcs), 2"x4"x.250 (2 pcs) and 2"x2"x.375 rt angle (2 pcs).
To achieve the top radius, I kerfed the 2x4x.125 on 8" centers, thru all but the top plane. (shown down in these shots) I had to keep the piece of stock tipped so my blade would be parallel (or is that on tangent?) with the edge I didn't want to cut. I did this with tiny adirondack chairs supporting the piece.
After the kerfing, I put it between two horses and let graviety do the rest. That was followed by a lot of welding.
